Can't Happen or /*NOTREACHED*/ or real programs dump core

UNIX programmer fail to check for failure of system calls or functions, taking familiat teen-age attitude that 'it cant happen to me(or my program)'. This paper will attemp to convince its audience to take prophylactic measures. Those who take such measures will be healthier - and less prone to suprises- than those who don't.

Beej's Guide to Network Programming

This document has been written as a tutorial, not a reference. It is probably at its best when read by individuals who are just starting out with socket programming and are looking for a foothold.
